While we were at my parents' for Christmas last week, Ethan was watching my mom refill the soap container with clear Method soap.
Ethan: Is that water?
Mom: No, it's just clear soap.
Ethan: Well, clear soap does not have any decorating capacity. We use blue soap, because it decorates.
And, NO, we have not EVER had a conversation about the decorating capacity of our soaps.

after all - decorating capacity is extremely important in a four year old's life. oh how I love this kid.
