Tabitha and my Mom share a birthday - more on that later. First let me explain the picture. You might think that this is a strange picture to post of my mother - especially on her birthday. Not so. This picture represents something wonderful about my mother. One of the things I love about her is how she can laugh at herself. Quick story. She is in the Relief Society presidency in her ward. She was in charge of putting together a picture directory of all the sisters. Of course, there were more than a few that didn't like their pictures. Some even refused to have theirs taken. So what does my mom do? She thought this picture was so funny, that she put it in the directory to make everyone else feel better. Her only regret was that she wasn't able to be at church when they passed out the directories. She wanted to be the one who pointed out her picture.
Who does this? My mom. As cultured and talented as she is, she is not vain. She loves to have fun, she loves to make people laugh, even when it's at her expense (just ask her to do her Tina Turner impression), and she loves to serve her family, which she is incredible at. She is an amazing woman who always puts everybody else first. Thanks, Mom, for all you do for us. I love you tons and am looking forward to your return!

Beautiful tribute. And yes, I'm having "17" tears.
